Sharon Griffin: Gwaith Newydd | New Works

15 November - 2 December 2020

From the earth, from clay and wood, with water and fire Sharon creates life! From these elemental ingredients, Sharon makes figures full of distilled energy and spirit. They have borne witness, they have endured and they have survived.

Here, despite all of life's slings and arrows, and after all our failures and disappointments, nobility, generosity and wisdom can prevail. Our better natures can triumph.

In a world, and through a life that leaves none of us spotless or undamaged, there is still beauty, dignity and the ability to truly connect and communicate with others. The work is a fusion of opposites both in its medium and its message: fragility and resilience.

Sharon grew up in Telford, and trained at the University of Wolverhampton. This is her third show for us. Most of these works were made during the pandemic.
