David Grosvenor: Gwaith Newydd | New Works

12 September - 6 October 2021

David is now firmly established as one of Wales' most popular and collected artists. He has been exhibiting with us since 2011, and his latest body of work consists of 50 paintings.

Here are two Davids: The first confined by lockdown to his garden, nurturing and documenting his own world, the world he has made around him, watching as the sun marks the hours and the seasons across the patio. The other, out alone, an escapee wrapping the wide landscape around him. And he understands how the landscape around him works: how the weather and the light can change the colour and texture of a lake, how the skies clot and clear, how the mountains stand arrogant and bright sometimes and at other times retreat behind sheets of mist to brood or plot. But more than this, he really knows how to catch these things with his paint, and he does it with such apparent simplicity and economy…

David was born in 1956. He moved to North Wales in 1991 to paint full-time. His paintings appear in public and private collections world-wide. He currently lives in Criccieth.
