For his third show with us, Adam has created another beautifully composed and considered collection of paintings.
Taking his initial inspiration from the coastline, features of the open landscape around him and the objects in it.
External conditions and topography become the embarkation point for an intellectual or emotional exploration; the means by which he approaches his real subject: our internal landscape. The nature, condition and veracity of our perceptions.
Through abstraction, reduction and refinement Adam produces paintings which are concentrated and full of presence. They are an exhilarating combination of economy and audacity. The marks are few and simple, the palette limited and stark. Such simplicity can be challenging but it allows space for contemplation and for recognition. The work waits silently, patiently with solace and comfort.
Adam studied Fine Art in Cardiff. He was elected to the RCA in 2022. In the years since his debut with us his work has been attracting considerable attention, with successful exhibitions in London and abroad, notably in Spain. His work is already appearing in diverse private and public collections. He currently lives in West Wales
