Kim Dewsbury: Gwaith Newydd | New Works

5 - 27 September 2025

For her latest show, Kim has created a collection that is beautiful and contemplative.  Offering glimpses of moments rescued from the passing of a year. The world turning, time wearing away.

She quietly shows us the ordinary yet precious wonders around us, using objects carefully chosen and placed. Encouraging us to look deeply and long.

Despite their diminutiveness, the works have presence and an elegiac attitude. Bright jugs of humble wildflowers, accidental unremarkable weeds, skulls and feathers command our attention!

The beauty of small things is her subject, the fleeting fragility of our world. Without fireworks or grand gestures, but with great skill and sensitivity, she makes detailed and concentrated work that feels like she is quietly bearing witness. She catches the ineffable.

Few artists can offer us a simple bowl of gooseberries painted with such care, consideration and wonder.

Kim trained at Falmouth Art School where she met Gerald. They lived in North Wales for 30 years before moving to Pembrokeshire last year. She has exhibited widely, including at the National Eisteddfod, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and the Falmouth Art Gallery. She has been exhibiting with us since 2015.
