Lyndon Thomas was born in Llanelli in 1941, his artistic career has spanned three decades and included three diverse, yet creatively linked disciplines; painting, pottery and woodcraft. Lyndon has achieved great success across all three media. Following the onset of arthritis some years ago Lyndon now concentrates fully on painting in acrylic from his delightful Pembrokeshire studio.
"I evolved a method of working in acrylic on paper using painting knives to achieve the textured affects I desired. The bulk of my subject matter is the landscape of North Pembrokeshire and the Lleyn Peninsula, the two western extremities of Wales. I am interested in human habitation within the landscape, habitation often isolated, almost apologetic in its setting. The exploration of a subject usually requires up to five paintings to capture the range of moods that various weather conditions provide."
Lyndon Thomas had a successful exhibition with us in 2014 and 2015. He will return again with a new body of work in June 2018.
