Formerly based in Ruthin in North Wales, Ann Bridges is currently living and working in Kent.
From 1995-1999 she studied Illustration at Yale College (Coleg Cambria) and the North Wales College of Art and Design (Glyndwr University). She graduated with First Class Honours in Design. A two year placement at Chester Zoological Gardens as Artist in Residence provided her with her first studio and the opportunity to develop and broaden her practice.
Starting with observational drawing, Ann combines her eye for detail with stencils and printmaking techniques to create paintings that are saturated with colour. They are at once limpid and intense; they enfold you and have a hallucinatory quality.
All the light and vigour, all the heat and energy, and all the tumult is distilled, and condensed into these calm, reflective works.
Ann Bridges has had exbitiions with us in 2014 and in 2017
